It all started roughly two years ago, when the production team from HGTV’s hit show Fixer to Fabulous reached out to us. They were impressed by our American-made mission and premium bedding products, and felt that Authenticity50 would be a perfect fit for the newest project from their popular hosts, Jenny and Dave Marrs. At that time, they were in the midst of shooting a show called HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous: The Welcome Inn. This spinoff series featured Jenny & Dave on their one year journey to transform a historic house into a beautiful vacation rental in Rogers, Arkansas.
If you watched the show, you probably remember Jenny & Dave Marrs hugging our Custom Comfort Pillow! We later learned that in their quest to find the most comfortable sleeping option for their guests, they tried out many types of pillows and bedding before selecting Authenticity50. It was such a treat to learn that Jenny & Dave were big A50 fans! After being featured on the Fixer to Fabulous: Welcome Inn, we were once again contacted by the Marrs team with a nice note congratulating Authenticity50 - our Heritage Blankets were chosen as a top pick for Jenny & Dave's 2022 Holiday Gift Guide. It was such a treat to know it is one of their fave products!
Then not long after the holidays, the Marrs team reached out and invited us to be part of Jenny & Dave's latest project, Marrs Mercantile in Centerton, Arkansas. This beautiful mercantile was built in an original bank building from 1905. It's just right down the road from their Welcome Inn: Rogers. The renovation was featured in the Season 4 Finale of HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous and the transformation was incredible!
When considering their favorite products and makers, Jenny & Dave specifically requested that Authenticity50's Heritage Blankets be stocked. Not only did they want our blankets there, they also invited us to join them for the Grand Opening of the Marrs Mercantile on April 1, 2023. After two years of working with Jenny & Dave and their awesome team, how could we resist the chance to finally meet everyone in person?!
A50 team members, Steph & Deagan, had a blast traveling to Arkansas to celebrate all the hard work and effort put forth by so many. The Marrs Mercantile is just as gorgeous in person, and it was so fun to see our Heritage Blankets in their new store! There are all kinds of other fabulous local makers, and Steph and Deagan made sure to pick up some great merch and goodies while there. Check out this video from the grand opening events:
After shopping at Marrs Mercantile, Steph and Deagan ventured into downtown Bentonville for some good eats and sights! While there, they toured the Walmart Museum, walked up the world's only bike-able building (seriously, you can ride a bike to the 6th floor), grabbed local coffee, and ate delicious Mexican food. Steph's favorite part was Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrored Room at the stunning Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Deagan really enjoyed the Momentary rooftop bar, located in an old Kraft Cheese factory. We totally recommend checking out those fun spots if you're ever in the area!
